March Update

With March behind us, we’ve officially reached the halfway point of the season – hard to believe how quickly time moves when you’re building a race car. The past few weeks have been packed with activity both in and out of the workshop, and there’s plenty to catch up on.

Pushing performance forward

On the technical side, our mechanics team has been hard at work. The rear end plate samples were put through rigorous 3-point bending and shear punch tests to ensure structural integrity and safety. In parallel, more material tests for official submission have been completed as part of our race entry requirements. With those results in hand, we successfully submitted key documents as well as necessary safety-related information covering material choices, testing procedures, and electrical systems. We are now awaiting feedback from the judges. Our electrical team has also made strong progress: the inverter has been upgraded from ZUR04 to ZUR05, restoring four-wheel drive functionality. At the same time, the final PCBs are being completed, and our newly arrived battery cells are set to undergo testing before safe installation.

On the manufacturing side, the focus has been intense, with the team working nearly around the clock on lamination. Meanwhile, the final versions of the rear wing endplate have been successfully simulated, marking another important step toward production readiness. We also carried out a 3D scan of the chassis – an essential part of our ongoing validation process.

Beyond the Workshop

We kicked off the month with one of our favorite traditions: driver selection. It’s a high-energy, annual showdown where team members hit the track and compete head-to-head to prove who’s fastest. From there, we headed to the Conecto Fair – an exciting day filled with great conversations and new connections. We were especially pleased to continue discussions with several interested students following our recruiting phase, as bringing in fresh perspectives and extra hands is always a win for the team.

A definite highlight of the past weeks was a visit from the ZUR founding team to our workshop. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our progress, exchange ideas, and share a few great conversations. To round things off, we held our quarterly get-together, where everyone came together once again to share insights and dive deeper into ongoing projects
